Frequently Asked Questions
Where in the world are you located?
That's a secret. Just kidding! Ha ha! We meet in various homes, coffee shops, libraries, clubhouses and schools throughout the Kansas City Metro. Check the HOME page for the upcoming location.
What time is your service?
Do I have to do or say anything in the service?
Yes. You must dance like a wild banshee when we call your name! No, no, no, just kidding! Just sit back and relax and enjoy the service.
Do I need to cover up my Tattoos?
Please don’t! Our pastor loves tattoos and is sleeved on both arms and will want to see your artwork.
Do I have to dress up?
Nope! Wear whatever you want. (Well, no speedos please!) If you want to wear a suit, then wear one, if you want to wear jeans, wear them. The pastor typically dresses business casual.
Do you ever dress up for a service?
No! Though on Christmas and Easter you will see some suits, and dresses but other than that it’s very casual.
Can I bring my kids with me on Sunday morning?
Yes, most definitely! We are a super kid-friendly church. We have classes for infants all the way up to high school age kids. Each class has age appropriate material being taught to help your kids mature in their relationship with God.
I am not a Christian; can I come to your church?
Yes, please do! Our church is the perfect place for you. We promise you’ll be surprised how much you’ll enjoy the service and find it meaningful to your life.
I am a Christian; can I come to your church?
Yes. But please beware that if you are a Christian, then you are to be a part of the mission of the local church to serve others. What we mean is that as a Christian we have been commissioned by Jesus to “go into all the world… and proclaim the good news… feed the poor… take care of the widows… clothe the naked… love your neighbor as yourself… do unto others as you would have them do unto you… be doers of the word and not hearers only…give…love…forgive…and serve” and this is what we will ask you to do if you hang around here long.
How long is the service on Sunday?
About 60 minutes.
Are you Chief’s fans?
Yes, what else would we be living here in Kansas? (Ha!) Another cool thing about Mercy Church is that we are done on Sundays by 11:00 AM, so you never have to miss a kick off!
What is your affiliation?
We are affiliated with A.R.C. (The Association of Related Churches), which is an interdenominational church planting organization founded on Judeo Christian Theology.
Do I have to believe everything you believe to attend and or to enjoy your church?
No! Absolutely not! We are not a narrow-minded group. What we believe in the Our Beliefs section of our website is just what we believe to be true as we understand it. Someday when we die we'll find out just where we may have misunderstood certain specific details in the Bible. We're still busy trying to follow what Jesus said was most important, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:30-31).
Will I benefit by attending your church?
Absolutely! Within 30 days you will be a multi-millionaire. (Ha!Ha!) On a serious note, yes! We know that your life will be greatly affected in a positive way by attending Mercy Church.
So what do I do?
Show up at 9:45 AM on Sunday morning, grab a donut and a cup of freshly brewed premium coffee and drop the kids off in their respective classes (if you have any), then head to the sanctuary and take a seat and relax…life is good!
